A Shared Boundary

Boundaries are expanding in this age, no longer clear lines. Electronic devices like phones and laptops have become extensions of our bodies, and the internet has grown to be an extension of our brains. While humans are gradually becoming cyborgs, machines are becoming humanised by the increasingly developed technology like artificial intelligence. There’s no absolute boundary between human and machine, and the internet blurs the boundary between public and private. After experiencing a whole year of isolation, we have also witnessed the boundary between the physical and digital world expand and fade. We are living with machines, interacting and learning from each other. In this online exhibition, nine artists explore different ways of communication and new possibilities to understand this shared boundary among us.

This exhibition is more like a group performance on the screen, by the screen, or with the screen. The dimension of time, which takes the place of physical space, builds three online viewing rooms.

The first phase is from January 16 to January 22. At the entrance of this show, artists introduce their unique views on interfaces, opening the audience's imagination to the screens we interact with every day.

The second phase is from January 23 to January 29. In the middle of the exhibition, three artists explore the possibilities of language, building platforms for innovative interpretations.

The third phase is from January 30 to February 5. In the deepest part of the exhibition, human senses are immersed into interfaces, and the artists bring new understanding of the relationship between humans and technology.
