As of late, the Los Angeles gallery, helmed by Emilia Yin, has found itself in Brussels, participating in this year's Art Fair in partnership with artists Guimi You and Jacopo Pagin.
Pagin and You's work investigates the intersections of culture that have influenced the self, storytelling, and spiritual understanding through a surrealist lens. Pagin has succeeded in utilizing pigmented color to illuminate his curiosity about mystical states, where a painting is a conduit for questioning rather than answers. You aligns herself with that same curiosity yet digs into her admiration of traditional Korean painting intertwined with a western oil flare. Offerings in the form of figure work or landscape depiction, each artist, lends a part of themselves, a contextualization that exists beyond the immediate.
